A Prototyping Method of Embedded Real Time Systems for Signal Processing Applications
نویسندگان
چکیده
Since the complexity of embedded applications is continuously increasing, system designers are faced to a more and more difficult task of selecting and interconnecting the right system components to implement a system functionality such that time and design constraints are satisfied. The lack of methods and tools able to explore various system solutions contributes to increase the time to market. In this paper we present an efficient algorithm for a semi-automatic system design space exploration to aid the designers in the determination of the specifications of a cost-efficient system architecture that satisfies the performance and design constraints.

Nowadays, several infrastructure-based low-frequency acoustical sensor networks are employed in different applications to monitor the activity of diverse natural and man-made phenomena, such as avalanches, earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, severe storms, super-sonic aircraft flights, etc. Two signal detection methods are usually implemented in these networks for the purpose of event occurrence i...
متن کاملA Time-Frequency approach for EEG signal segmentation
The record of human brain neural activities, namely electroencephalogram (EEG), is generally known as a non-stationary and nonlinear signal. In many applications, it is useful to divide the EEGs into segments within which the signals can be considered stationary. Combination of empirical mode decomposition (EMD) and Hilbert transform, called Hilbert-Huang transform (HHT), is a new and powerful ...
متن کاملThe Use of Application Software Tools for Real-Time Embedded Multiprocessor Signal Processing Systems
The design of complex signal and image processing systems implementing applications characterized as single-program multiple-data (SPMD) and multiple-program multiple-data (MPMD) requires high-performance embedded multiprocessor hardware. These applications are characterized by a series of data transformations and/or eventdriven processes, and can be modeled by a series of sequential and concur...
متن کاملConsidering Models of Computation in Developing A New Specification and Design Methodology for Large Real-Time Embedded Multiprocessor Signal Processing Systems
Complex real-time embedded digital signal processors such as are used in demanding applications like radar signal processing are now typically being implemented with commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) multiprocessor (MP) technologies. The specification and design of such systems is complex, even when the design options are limited to these COTS technologies. New tools have recently appeared that s...
